About the Author

Jasmine Mendiola, the author of www.miofightscancer.com tells of how her seven year old son is battling with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Her advocacy has reached over 50,000 readers and has spear-headed joint efforts by friends and family to help raise funds through concerts, art exhibits, benefit dinners and products sold at bazaars to help with her son Mio's medication, as well as inspire other families of kids with rare diseases to have a normal life template and hopefully continue to style their lives for success. Jasmine is a devoted mother, a hard-working writer and a gifted makeup artist whose collaborative work is a handful of insights worth sharing.

Jasmine Mendiola is a professional makeup artist. Her passion for makeup is rooted in the kind of discipline and dedication she has had as a Theater Arts graduate from Ateneo de Manila University. Learning the fundamentals of skin, light and formulations of makeup from Manila's finest artists such as Propaganda’s Ricci Chan and Publicis Manila’s President, Marlon Rivera, Director of the acclaimed Babae sa Septik Tank. Jasmine landed a job as a Fashion & Beauty Editor where she has mastered the industry of style, building her portfolio with written works on reviews and how tos of various makeup and skincare products from different brands, styling models and celebrities for numerous magazines, commercials, events, plays and fashion shows. She has earned a wide-range of managerial experience particularly in Adpromo, Marketing and Merchandising for fashion retail and makeup brands. She is the authority when it comes to producing shoots for print materials and knows how to gather the best industry members for each unique material having been a Creative Director and a Project Manager for numerous ABS-CBN and Viviamo Inc. (makers of the Belle de Jour Power Planner) client-initiated executions.

Knowing trends and clothing styles to put a look together from head to toe for kids, tweens, males and female models, from students, celebrities to corporate officers and front-liners--her vast exposure in the fashion and beauty industry has allowed her to integrate them in occasion-appropriate and age appealing looks. Being a thespian and writer in nature, Jasmine hopes to continue using her craft as tools for others to gain self-confidence and a well-guided sense of style in any event, by maximizing their own wardrobe without sacrificing their unique personalities. She does this through Style Consultations and Coaching classes in Grooming, Hairstyling, Skin & Hair Care, Makeup, Wardrobe and Power Dressing for John Robert Powers and Train Station. She is also a member of the Association for Image Consultants International Singapore chapter.
